Abstract: The authors analysed the regional geology,sedimentation,and the geologic conditions of petroleum,and their relationships with the evolution of hydrocarbon source rocks,based on the data collection from the petroleum exploration and seismic survey of Wan'an Basin,southwest China Sea,over the recent decades.As a result,the distributive characters of oil/gas resources in the basin are concluded,which will provide bases for further oil/gas exploration.
