Abstract: The effect of waterflood development in the Tahe Oilfield is obvious, preventing annual natural decline by 10%-15% in the recent 3 years. Statistics have indicated that 16. 1% of total wells fail in waterflood, featured by less injection times and high water cut production. The main influencing factors of waterflood failure include low hole location, poor reservoir condition, unreasonable waterflood parameter design or their composition. Countermeasures are put forward. The principles of well selection and waterflood parameter design are modified. Field application has achieved good effect, proving significance for promotion.
